Default Well...

Since everyone seems to like the help build/design car posts...I'll put one for myself.

I've got a '99 Silver EX Sedan.

Opinions please?

Just wait for all the Ferio experts to come around (18secFerio, asiandood, etc only 2 i thought of off the top of my head) they'll give you some good ideas..

Id say go with a oem or type r lip kit, drop it with H&Rs or coilovers, get some KYB AGX or Koni Yellows, some nice 16 or 17 inch rims, and some gunmetal/black headlights...to start

Alright, well...

As far as cosmetic mods:
1. Nice set of wheels/tires along with a nice drop
2. Front/Rear Lip for a nice clean look (try not to go wild and crazy with a body kit)
3. DO NOT put altezzas on your ride, stick with your red/clears
4. Depending on the color of your car, Tint your windows
5...There are tons of things to do....those are just some examples...

As far as performance...
1. Your D16Y8 has some potential, and depending how how much money you are willing to dump into it...there are many directions you can go...
a) Stick with your motor, do the normal Intake/Header/Exhaust and build up the motor I.E. rods/pistons/cams...
b) Stick with your motor and slap a turbo on there, I have seen many well-runniong D16Y8s with a turbo, they are pretty fast too...and if you go custom, it'll be cheaper. Not to mention it would be a great learning experience...(talk to SleeperCivic or WCS about turbo)
c) Swap a new motor. Sounds like a big deal, and it kinda is, but with the right precautions, and the right tools, it can be done semi-easily. You could go with the SI motor (B16a), the Teg GSR motor (B18C1), the Teg LS motor (B18B), the CRV motor (B20), or any other D, B, or H series without much trouble...Most ppl go for the SI, or the GSR swap...but the LS, and CRV motors are becoming more and more popular....
d) A combination of a,b, and c.... Same motor, build it up then turbo.....Swap/turbo...or an all motor swap...like I said there are many directions to go....

I agree with dubs. You're starting with a clean slate and if you want it to look nice, just do subtle mods that clean up the lines of the car: lip kit, paint unpainted moldings, nice set of rims (nothing too big or bling), replace those outer tail lights with some red/clears.

Stay away from those projection headlights, stupid body kits, huge wings and stickers. :goodjob:
