That could work too.

There are also tools to remove stripped lugs or lock lugs that you don't have the key for. I have a couple different styles from when I worked at Sears Auto a long time ago. We'd use them on lock lugs all the time when customers lost there keys for them.

I'm not sure where you get them... like I said I got mine on the job.... but basically, it's a socket looking thing except it's got like four prongs that slip over the lug. Around the prongs is a tubular sleeve with a nut behind that... You slip the prongs over the lug and when you start tightening the nut, it forces the tubular sleeve avound the prongs which compresses or crimps around the lug and locks itself on to it... then you can use an impact gun preferably to just zap off the lug. It works like a charm every time... I'll take a pic of one so you can see what I'm talking about. If you can't find a place to buy one, most tire shops should have one and they could get the lug off.

OK, here's the tool I was talking about...

the 1st piece on the left goes over you lug

the 2nd piece in the middle slips over the first

the 3rd piece; the nut, screws onto the first and when tightened creats a compressed pinch on the lug.

Once this is on good and tight then you can pop the lug or lock lug off with no problems:thumbup:

I have a special key lug on my stock wheels that I stripped out. I took a 12point 3/4" socket (try to get the one barely smaller than the circumference of the lug) and I took a rubber hammer and hammered that son of a gun on there all the way. Then I took a 2ft breaker bar and broke it lose.

Granted I can't use that lug again it got it off.

But my lug nuts have a hole inside for you to stick a hexagonal key...the outside is round...

That special tool looks like it goes around a regular lug nut that requires a grip on the outside of the lugnut...

If you're talking about the tool I posted, it works on lock lugs which are perfectly round so it should work on yours. It is designed to get lock lugs off when people have lost their keys for them.

Most tire shops should have them if you can get your car to one, just have them do it

Sucks man. Hope you get it all figured out. Would the gator grip do any good? Probably not, but it might be worth a try.
