When you installed the new flywheel, did you install the pilot bearing for the tranny's input shaft in the center of the flywheel?
(no pilot bearing = no support the tranny's input shaft and the weight of the clutch would make the input shaft whip around causing all kinds of problems)

What did the fingers on the pressure plate look like once it was torqued down to spec? (basically, flat and even = good)

Did you replace the throwout bearing? (just a good thing to replace while you have the tranny out anyway)

I didn't change my '91 CRX Si very much:
-everything is stock except stage1 pressure plate & clutch, blue tokico shocks, and a Mishimoto Radiator (full size dual layer)
-keep daily drivers close to stock for flywheel and clutch/pressure plate is my way of looking at things

Yes installed new pilot bearing on flywheel, and throwout bearing as well....when I torqued down the clutch it was MOSTLY even maybe just a liiiiiittle poking out towards to tranny. as if it could have been torqued down more, but I did torque it to spec. but yea it was just a little out. for the most part it was flush and even.

update on clutch:

took it off and checked it. looks just like it did when I put it on, lol...

-another note: when I turned the car on after all of this initially, whenever I pushed the clutch in and out, you know how u hear the engine sound a liiiiittle different. like u can hear a small chatter (not a bad chatter, just more parts moving) when ur not pressing on the clutch...well it all sounded the same. my car is not brand new so it shouldn't sound so quiet, lol. with the clutch in or out, all I heard was plain engine running.

The pressure plate fingers poking out a little towards the tranny doesn't mean much (either the clutch is a tiny bit thinner than spec or the flywheel offset from pressure plate mounting surface to clutch contact surface is a tiny bit too big; the clutch wearing down does the exact same thing). Torque to spec is perfect.

How much of the tranny did you disassemble then reassemble when you did your minor rebuild?
(When I did my clutch replacement 9 years ago, I only replaced the axle seals and the engine rear main seal. I didn't want to take apart my tranny to replace the input shaft seal.)

I still don't know what the cause of your "no power to the wheels" problem is.
(talk to someone local who can actually look at the car.)

Take Care,
ChrisS

I took everything out of the tranny housing when I did the minor rebuild. I didn't take apart any gears....im thinking I either mildly misplaced the clutch when installing it, or it IS the axles >:O thank you for helping me!!! it helped me narrow down my problem!

man ur not gonna believe this...I just now figured it out...the clutch disc....IS TOO BIG. the splines don't line up. I just put the clutch disc up to the input shaft, and the clutch disc went over it like nothing. the diameter of the splines on disc were too big in comparison to the input shaft. therefore it was as if the transmission wasn't even connected but the engine was running. explains many of my symptoms, if not, all of them. I never would have thought I received a wrong part. thought u might like to know this. man, this was a tough one to figure out! lol.
