Right if you never driven on these tires they you shouldn't be posting hear-say. I've run these tires for 2 years (3 sets) and in every event that I've run in the rain they rock! I've actually placed FTD a couple of times in the rain even against WRXs, Evo8s and Porsche Carrera 4s.

I can guess why for some people these tires suck in the rain is because they do not know how to drive with these tires in the rain. You have to just drive smart - most drive stupid. And another thing is alignment helps these tires perform - you need 0 toe front and rear. And not alot of front negative camber.

My list of good dry tires and a little wet:
  • Toyo T1-S
  • Yokohama ES100
  • Kumho 712s
  • Kumho MX
  • Falken Azenis
  • Yokohama A520
  • Bridgestone S03
  • Micheline Pilots
  • Yokohama A032rs
  • BFG g-force TA KDs

First tires i had on my gsr's were the nitto nt450s... i thought they were good, but because I was comparing them with the stock civic wheels. They suck and eventually warped.

I recommend the Yoko es100's. They had nice grip and were awsome in the rain.

Made the mistake of replacing them with toyo fz4's and they suck compared to the es100's in dry grip ( not sure about wet yet ).

edit:
and they're on civicsiracer's list.

Nobody likes the Falken ZE-512's? Pretty good all around tire for the price.

I like the Azenis but the treadwear rating is only 200 Very sticky for its price though

Tread wear is just a figurative number. I had tires with higher tread wear than the Azenis and only lasted 15,000 miles whereas my Azenis lasted about 15,000 miles AND 30 autocrosses, 2 track days, and 30 laps around the Carlisle Mini road course. So figure that's about another 15,000 miles.

Azenis' are good, but I would not get them for daily driving.
I had Yokohama AVID H4's before, I was pretty satisfied with them other than their sidewalls were pretty weak...

The Toyo FZ4's are

Trying out some Kumho 711's now, don't think they'll be good at all..

I'm looking into some Potenza's or T1's.
