Fitting radials on my sol
im thinking about doing that... would you advise getting the same one you just bought? i might have to get a cheaper model, being poor and all... but i figure it should be quality, if its not gonna do its job then i risk getting everything else stolen too.
Mine is a 400 buck alarm system I got for 250 installed. I just got a good deal. If you plan on expanding your system, get a higher model that has more aux channels. If you just want a decent alarm with power locks and no remote start or anything, get a basic model. I think it has one extra channel for an add on.
I used to think that you had to have an auto for remote start too, but it's not so. It's just that most companies don't want to be liable for people starting their cars in gear, and so don't warranty the product for that usage, or blazen the package with "AUTO ONLY," etc. But it *is* possible to get a remote starter for a manual car. I have a friend with an Eclipse with one, and he's been lucky enough to never smash anything by leaving it in reverse, etc. Although I'm very sure it COULD happen.
I always park in neutral anyways so it's never going to happen to me.
You can put the remote start on a manual. You just bypass the clutch switch. Two wires, snippity snippity splice and you're done

But you figure, if you start the car in gear, the e-brake should hold it in place, yes? A car idling in 1 or R gear goes less than 1mph. 2-5 and it prolly wouldn't even start.
