Top speed (2000 civic Si)

i hear that a factory 2000 honda civic Si will reach a top speed of 128mph...are they governed or restricted...if so and you took off all restrictions, how fast would it go then

i dont need to go that fast, my 2k civic si has never hit 86 mph i am just wondering

It would go until you hit your rev limiter or you ran out of gearing.... or you ran out of road :chuckles:

i think max is around 145 due to the b16's short gearing. i have taken mines up to 135 (dinan chipped ecu=no restrictor/governor) and got skurred so i back down.

~140 indicated=127 actual. my friend has hit a speedo-indicated 140 mph close to redline in 5th gear, motor trend has redlined 5th gear and gotten a radar-gun-indicated 127 mph.

Jesus Christ, did you read my post? If you are looking for a car and one of your major concideration is the top speed, the civic should not be high on your list. ****ING READ, NEWB!!!
