Just because it is through a dealer means nothing as far as legality for street registration. A vehicle can be brought in as an off highway use only vehicle or race vehicle only. This means the vehicle although here legally has been made a "green sticker" only and not eligible for street use any longer. People do this with special interest vehicles like Skylines and other relative exotics. It's a lot cheaper than going through the upgrade requirements from DOT to make them street legal and you still get to enjoy them on the weekends.
