Phat, you shouldn't let the barbells hit each other. It released the tension you are building up in your muscles and actually assists you in the return motion because you are now accelerating the bells in the opposite direction. Instead slow down and hold and squeeze your apex and lower meeting point.

You should know from P90x that it is the hold and tense that really works and builds the muscle.

On a different note Craig and I surfed for almost 3 hours yesterday hitting a high percentage of our waves. Was a damn good workout!
