its pretty well known in the evo community, that given the same oil rating and weight, that some oil brands make more power during dyno testing...same car same day same hour etc. dont actually have any hard data at work, but a good evo friend has his own shop/dyno, and he's seen it all.
it was kind of disappointing to see Redline and Mobil 1 fare pretty low compared to other brands. However, Royal Purple and Eneos rate at the top as far as hp and tq output goes.
as far as actual protection and lubricity factors go, thats another ball game..
It's just been bread into me from all the people who I grew up with and taught me about cars, I have heard lots of negative things about certain brands and very few negative things about others from first hand engine builders etc. So is it a factual statement above, not that I can prove. More just an overstated personal opinion
