the cavaliers maybe they dont look good to you but reliability wise they rival the civics. the focus is relatively new so overall reliability is yet to be really seen in terms of a long term basis.
as for the neon, never was there a bigger piece of crap that was dodge motors. the thing was one big pile of crap, the only thing going for it was its pricetag and that sadly was offset by the frequency with which it needed to be repaired
ford had the tempo, which maybe boxy but things run forever and you can beat them to piss.
