I don't own a gun here in FL. Don't have the intent to get one for home protection either for years, if at all. As of now, its the dog and a good neighborhood. As I've said before, I entirely agree with your views on guns, have been trained in usage, and also have high respect for personal fire arms in general. I grew up in the boonies of Western MA / Southern VT, always being around guns. Its much more likely here that a robber is trying to steal your TV (which VERY RARELY happens)...and if thats the case, they are at a severe disadvantage holding a TV when I physically restrain them or crack them over the head with a baseball bat. My only point in all this, is if somebody holding a tv...a petty theif hears a shotgun cock, they're goona drop the tv and run. period. They'll be out of my house, which I can then secure again and keep my family safe.
