If I can pipe it upwards, I would love to stick a low profile "cone" filter behind the headlight. This way I will be getting cool air from the headlight instead of hot air from the radiator and it will place the filter higher up, so ingesting foreign objects and water will be much more difficult.
The 2.75 inlet from a motorcycle filter will be for a larger bike like a harley or maybe even a Goldwing. I don't think you will find a cone filter for a crotch rocket, but I could be wrong. You see more drop ins with those.

I know somebody who rides bikes regularly and at the track, I'll ask.
