I have 2 friends who are cops one is making 75K/year and the other 68K/year + OT. Both are 2nd year.
Thats in line with what I was going to reply with. There isn't an agency in the bay area that
starts out at less than 60k and thats without OT.

You're right. Unless you go with an SO in which case you'll start in the jail more than likely. You don't go straight to being an investigator. Even with college.
I'd advise you to go back to your old job. An agency will like your security work on there but they'll like your college experience more. You dont need that security gig to get you in. Go to school and pull good grades and you'll be fine
