Read up on your history. They didn't want to take the risk of invading through them. Just about every swiss person had a rifle and marksmanship was the national past time. Switzerland was ready to defend themselves once the war started. Sure germany would of won had they really try to invade them but they would of lost way too many people than it would of been worth.
