I called the dealer to see if this is a warranty thing, I dunno think big chunks a metal should be falling off my car like that... the guy i spoke to was a jr mechanic I guess because he couldn't gimme a price but someone would call me back, he said its pretty cheap though. I asked with labor included, he said they probably wouldn't even charge me labor, just for the part, if I would bring it for regular maintanance..

He did stress I should get it replaced because its a fire hazard being exposed... I said fire what? where? he's like dry leaves etc etc..

That true? I mean its fall and I live in a pretty wooded area so yea dead/dry leaves will be all around.. is my car gonna catch on fire if I park on dry leaves?

heh...
The odds of anything catching on fire are very, very slim. But it's not a difficult thing to put back on yourself if you want to save some money and have the peace of mind.
