As I wrote earlier - w/ an Audi one can also get AWD (in fact the best AWD system on the market - hands down), a turbo or decent V6 or V8, incredible real world driving capability (braking, steering response, handling, etc), beautiful refined interiors, and subtle - no cop-bait exteriors that will not look dated in a year or two - (however, Audi's new big-gulp 'corporate' grill on the '06s kinda sucks, though), and lots of aftermarket support. And, they can be had as reasonably-priced Audi-certified used cars w/ a warranty out to 100k miles. And they're quiet, too.
The S4 is a great alternative...however, they're a lot less reliable than the STi/Evo and are prone to turbo failures. I'd love to buy one, but I don't think I could deal with them
