I always looked at downloading drivers as going to the grocery store. Installing is putting the groceries away. Rebooting is washing your hands before you started cooking (starting the app)
Might be dumb, but gives a good reference.

What's the point of rebooting to finish if it won't properly install?
The install program I DL'd from HP keeps freezing. I found the CD, and it keeps freezing when it gets to 49% of the initialization.
I don't know what to do anymore other than give up, reformat, or buy a new PC.
