No, I am not cruising in boost. Depending on the throttle position, I will be anywhere from 15 mm/hg to 10 mm/hg in vacuum.
Yes, a lighter flywheel will help you accelerate a little faster and have quicker throttle response, but you will still be limited by the tranny. The LS tranny is decent in 1st and 2nd, but everything after that is rediculously long. Getting through 3rd gear will feel like an eternity.
You can try both, but the GSR tranny will always accelerate faster. Putting in the LS 5th gear is the biggest waste of money, IMO. You won't save enough in gas to justify the cost and labor involved in doing such a project.
