Stop listening to people saying shit like "it helps you stay in boost longer". You don't want to stay in boost...you want to get through the powerband as quickly as possible. A shorter geared tranny will always accelerate faster than a longer geared tranny whether you are boosted or N/A.
And about gas mileage...throttle position has more of an affect than rpm does on your mileage. I just drove from California to Colorado at 80 mph (4000 rpm with a GSR tranny) the whole way and averaged 29.5 mpg. The higher rpms does not affect gas mileage. The retards that say that shit are the same that say the LS tranny is better for boost.
