97 EX - Timing belt changed, strange noise coming from top end bearing/seal.
Hi everyone,
I had the timing belt, water pump, and oil seals changed on my 97 EX 2d 5-SPD the other day by a dealership. (92,000 miles)
Now, there is a whining noise coming from the top end timing belt / cam / bearing / oil seal area.
Now, it doesn't make this whining noise when the engine is cold. Only after the car has been driven for at least 5 minutes or so.
This noise is locked in with engine RPMs, high revs = higher pitched whining or "zzzzziiiiiiii" sound.
What's the deal? I've never had this problem with any of the other Honda's I've owned when the timing belt / water pump was changed.
I've been taking it easy, allowing the pump, belts, and seals to 'break-in'.
