Default Timing Belt just changed-->Noises

I just got my timing belt changed and now i get a whistling or screeching noise from where the timing belt is. It is more noticeable at idle or past 3000 rpm. I went back to the guy and he said its jus cuz the belt is new--it has to be stretched out. he said to wait a week and it will go away. Is this true or is he blowin me off????

I had a similar whining noise in high rpm's. My mechanic had it overtightened and he loosened it a bit and the whining went away. Now i"m left with a rattling noise that sounds like its coming from the timing belt area. I'm afraid to think that the adjuster might be shot in there, I'd hate to have to go in there one more time, this is becoming a bit of a nightmare.

You're going to run cams on a auto tensioner? That's just asking for bent valves bro! Do the h23 swap, it's cheaper and way easier!

aight...i have the same problem...kinda sounds like i have a wimpy supercharger running in the car.

a mechanic...that i am not too fond of, claimed to loosen my timing belt. went back to him, and he claims that it could be a pulley....

is he jerking my chain?

if the cover isn't on your going to hear em. It could be too tight I guess... and I've hear that there is a such thing as belt noise dampening fluid or spray or something.

the belt is to tight, you run to long on it and it will rip, and then your in deep crap. get him to fix it. i had to fight with some idiot about it not being what a honda sounds like. had to end up bringing it to honda and letting them do it. trust me, its to tight. this happened to me less then 2 months ago
