Default Potential TSX purchase

hey all..

Long time honda owner of Preludes and Accords here. Wife has a CRV and I still have ( and love and will never give up) a 87 lude.

My maxima was totaled and Im thinking of getting a TSX

the 4 cyl engine is attractive to me ( shocking I know) b/c of the price of gas.

honda reliability a +

how is the insurance on it?

ANything to worry about? timing belts? etc?

Im looking to get a 04-05, 5spd i think.. sometime within the next few months.

thoughts?

i pay 95/mo for good insurance in los angeles
better than my 2000 civic si

i dont know of any potential mechanical problems that most owners experience

i would strongly suggest 06+ over a 04-05 because of the extra functions and navigation

well. I would love to get the 06, but the $18-$19g's they are asking for an '04 is more i nmy price range.

Im not worried about navigation--- is there really that much of a difference?

The cost of insurance for the TSX is very reasonable. The car crashes well (it is safe) and insurance companies probably see a favorable loss history for the TSX given the owner demographic. So, outside of pricing adjustments resultant from your driving record, if any, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I made a call on insurance a few months back. Very suprised at the price, much lower than I expected. I even called the agent on it. They told me it had a lot to do with the 4-cylinder as opposed to 6-cylinder engine and 4-door sedan as opposed to 2-door coupe.
