Default hahahah oh man too funny but sad. yeah i sucked again at the autox

with the neg camber set to the max, i went from massive understeer to massive oversteer (throttle induced).

I had to be so touchy with the throttle that if I gave it more than 1/4throttle the back end twitches. more than 1/2 throttle and it step out.

I spun on my third run but caught it before it went past 90degrees.

there were only 20cars in my run group so I only had about 3mins inbetween runs, which meant I had enough time to lower the tire pressure but not increase it.

in my infinite wisdom, i lowered the rears by 2psi and it made the oversteering worse  and I spun :chuckles:

my friend with the stock suspension ran a fastest time of 45.xxx and I only ran a 50.6xx. major

oh well live and learn i guess

in hindsight what I should have done was go into the turns with more speed then throttle out slowly after the turn. I was going into the turn super slow then attempted to throttle out aggressively.

yeah i suck

it is kinda a trial and error when learning suspension setups

yeah and a very steep one

I've decided not to buy the wheel/tire package and instead buy a camber gauge.

I must be running -3 or more on both sides now. the car wouldn't understeer except for this one time when I completely blew the corner and was hard on the brakes and had to accelerate wayy past the apex.

Not trying to be rude, but judging from your comments and your dissatisfaction with your times, I think your money would be much better spent on improving your driving chops than on your car. Consider that a guy in a stock car was 5 seconds faster than your modded car. Sounds like your problem isn't with the car but the driver. Fix the driver and it will be much easier to figure out what's wrong with the car.

I hope you take this as constructive rather than destructive criticism.

Regards,
Alan

yeah i already realize this, but the driver of the other car (and a very good friend of mine) has great natural talent.

he was within 1.0 second of the fastest time in the run group where another person with the same car/engine + ground control suspension set with Koni DAs and 275/40/17 rear and 255/40/17 front running on victoracers. That persons is also a friend of mine and has been autoxing for over 8years.

I've already admitted that i was driving the car wrong/incorrectly.

but thanks for the criticism. i already plan on taking additional autox schools but they don't offer any around where I am until next year.

I don't blame the car. I blamed the person driving the car and the person who setup the car. Which is me

Well it's amazine when you tighten the nut behind the wheel

I did much better this past weekend. I had my friend who was the regional FSP champ in his 2002 drive my car.

His first run he ran a 79. Oversteering and understeering all over the course and two spins. He was driving the car like his 2002.

He thought about it then we lowered the front air pressure to 36 from 40 and he ran a 62.3xx.

I ran a fastest of 65.xxx

I rode with him on all 3 runs and learned a lot of the car and also got several pointer regarding slaloms and the limits of the car.

He felt the car switched form slight understeer to oversteer very quickly and I could benefit from some more negative camber in the rear. But overall I was being too rough with the steering inputs.

Lesson learned.
