Hoping to have some money saved up so I can buy better tires. Maybe if I have more I can get a front strut bar, better brakes/pads, shocks. Hopefully I can get more seat time and learn to drive better. My class has some very good drivers, hopefully I can challenge them a little bit.

Yea about that seatime, I simply cannot wait to get out there and drive. I try to be real safe on the streets, because I figure racing is for the track - but I havn't even been on a track before. Is there any other way than autocross to get some seatime? I know there are some schools here and there, anything else? Becuase I gotta wait at least 4 months before an autoX event (long time for some eager little teenager )

No one is posting because nothing is really going on. This is the off season.

I hope to get a nice set of wheels and tires too and do rear disc brakes this summer, then do some auto-x. Also fix the annoying idle which I think is the sensor for the coolant temperature. And eventually get the transmission rebuilt before I kill it completely from racing.

i'm also mad that i saw a miata on sport compact magazine running 235/45/15 azenis

Nothing is being done at the moment to the 89 Civic Si. It's my winter car for now. So that way I don't have to change anything on the 00 Civic Si. Once winter is over it should be good to go. I was comtemplating running HS maybe too OR installing a roll bar so I can do some Solo I events too.

You realize thought that putting a front strut bar on your Accord is going to bump you to STS or FSP?

Well good luck to you sir on your endeavors with the 89.

About the strut bar, maybe I am not thinking of the right term. According to the Solo 2 manual it says:

13.7 Anti Roll (Sway) Bars

1. Front anti-roll (sway) bars:
1. Substitution, addition or removal of any front anti-roll bars is permitted.
2. Substitution, addition or removal of anti-roll bars may serve no other purpose than that of an anti-roll bar.
3. The use of any bushing material is permitted.
4. No modification to the body, frame or other components to accommodate anti-roll bar addition or substitution is allowed, except for the drilling of holes for mounting bolts. Non-standard lateral members which connect between the brackets for the bar are not permitted.
2. Rear anti-roll (sway) bars:
1. May not be removed, replaced, or modified in any way

I thought strut bar and sway bar were interchangeable terms? Can you please clarify that, I really don't want to jump into a prepared class right now. Thanks.

Nope a Strut Bar is the bar that connects from the shock towers and over the engine, when you lift the the hood you can see it.

A sway connects to each side of the suspension through some busing and helps the car when cornering and effectivly increase's the front spring rate. Add a Front sway to a FWD car you will probably incrase its tendency to plow through a corner, however it will probably transision quicker so in stock class some people perer the quick trasitions they get from a bigger sway.
