Hey guys I'm totally new to autocross, but it seems so incredibly awesome. I've been considering trying it someday, but never really got around to it. After a few unsucsessful searchs for a schedual of events in my area, I sorta gave up. Recently, though, I found a friend who said he would be interested in trying it out. I was wondering, it is an easy sport to jump into? Most of the stories and pictures I've seen imply that lots of preparation is needed, but can you just try it out with a stock Prelude and a helmet? I'd love it!

I think Mike(CivicSiRacer) and Rick(DakarMaul) are the 2 best people to speak to when it comes to AutoXing. Most of us are still fairly new to it. Such as Sean(Axemansean) Zack(Clicksidious), LT(LT69Padawan) and me.

Hey thanks guys. Looks good. Too bad the season's over, but man I'm excited for next year. Also, will autoXing wear down your tires a significant amount? Sounds fun!

Autocross season over? No way. There's an event this Sunday at Maple Grove, December 4th with Capital Driving Club near Baltimore, MD and a few more at Maple Grove with the Blue Mountain Region SCCA
Then SNOWCROSSING STARTS WOOT!
You can spend $1000 on a nice coilover system and maybe shave off .1-.4 seconds on a 60 second course. Or you can spend $225 for an Evolution School or $50 on the average Novice Autocross school and shave off about 4-8 seconds on that same course.

Then SNOWCROSSING STARTS WOOT!

Also, sorry to use your thread, but is it likely to autocross a stock automatic ex? Without abusing the car?
