Default Suspension suggestions needed for track GSR

I'm thinking of changing the stock suspension on my 96 GSR for something more aggressive. I do about 15 track days a year with this car, as well as use it as a daily driver (so adjustability would be nice).

Ideas?

Koni + GC sleeves + ITR rear swaybar are a good, cheap setup that seems to work well.

I would make sure to get double adjustable Konis.

.RJ please change your avatar to something that is nonsexual in nature.

You absolutely do not need Double Adjustables...

The off the shelf Koni Sports (yellows) will be fine for mild (up to 500 lb) spring rates. Adding adjustable compression adds $$$$$$$.

i agree with the koni yellow/custom rate GC with a type r swaybar or comptech swaybar in the rear will be all you need.

spring rates in the 450# range all around will be all you need. even a little less if you are going for a somewhat comfortable ride on the street.

He said adjustability would be great.

And you still have not changed your avatar. If you do not, then it will be removed for you.

Koni's Yellows are adjustable, and the one adjustment is good enough for most people, I know both successfull road racers and auto-crosser who run single adjustable Koni's, they are more than enough for most people.

Koni Yellows are rebound-adjustable over a very large range - you usually wont even use the whole range of adjustment. I ran them with 450/600# springs last year and while a bit underdamped, they felt fantastic.

I have a set of revalved Konis on the way... going to keep my stock springs this time though.

RJs suggestions about GCs, Koni yellows, and a bigger rear anti-roll are rock solid -- really can't go wrong with a setup like that.

But, heck, if I were you, I'd ditch the GSR and track your M3! Mmmmm, Bavarian goodness.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

Neo, you have no idea how much I want to track the M! But my motto is "if you're not willing to wreck it, don't track it". For now, the M3 is doing autoX duty (seems kind of backwards, doesn't it...M3 for autoX, GSR for track. ). Next year, though, the M will see some track time.

I think Jay at ground control is going to be pretty happy with me soon...I'm also debating whether to first get coilovers or swaybars for the M3. Decisions decisions...
