I feel sorry for that tire, stretched over the rim like that.

Ya know that feeling you get, when you drive your DECENT honda around, and come up on some punk kid who riced the shit out of his once-identical honda ? I have a little of that right now.

I'll openly admit, some of the new VW people aren't up to par. The old school VW people are dominating forces, but the new guys aren't putting up numbers like their dads did.

As long as you rip on the ricer, and not on the brand, its all good with me. I agree, those wheels are unacceptable. I do, however, still think it looks 100x better than some 50-inch aluminum wing.

Some of the VW people are impressive. Like the TwinTurbo VR6s around here :rick:

if its not a vr6, then stuff it, it wont have enough horsepower to back up its look. Unless of course it pumps out 300hp wit a trbo 4. Also, ppl use the term "ricer" too much, i think the car looks ok...

300hp with a turbo 4 is no big deal.
Look at the SR20DET or the B20. People make 300hp with a T28 and bolt ons.

Honestly, VW tuning is probably one of the most expensive routes, as far as $/hp.

Youve got the VR6, which is ok from the factory, but with bolt-ons, it doesnt do much. You either need to turbo, or supercharge it, and you still have the torque steer issue.

Then you have the 1.8T, and its pretty weak from the factory, and its maxed out at 310hp(APR Stage III)

The base cars are $$ too. Not like a Honda or a Nissan where you can buy a shitty car and slap a turbine on.

If you want AWD, you gotta go Audi and quattro and luxury features make it heavy as fawk.

All in all, VWs are pretty much show oriented unless your talking turbo VR6s, Golf R32 or the Corrado

I'll get me an SRT-4 and runs circles around that ugly thing.

Oh wait the Neon isn't that much of a looker either.

At least I won't have to get my battery serviced. :happysad:

As long as you don't put 10" wide rims on the SRT4 it'll be fine. h:

Well, that car pictured it just one of the different euro styles, that is out there..

I'll try my best to break it down..

keep in mind german and english styles overlap, just depends on what car your looking at..

German style
basically cleanest version of euro, no "boser" hoods, basically stock on the exterior.. dumped with stock or stock-looking lips, valences, and side-skirts.. textured body parts.. stretched tires, the germans like using wheels from other cars(porsche wheels, mb, audi, and the example vette wheels), with low offsets so the wheels are flush with the fenders.. my favorite incarnation of euro, because of how clean it is..
some examples..

English Style

Crazier then the german style, different door handles, really wide wheels on skinnier tires, smoothed bumpers, pulled fenders, crazier lips, valences, skirts, boser hoods..
some examples..

French Style
the ricers of europe, don't have any pics but nasty bodykits, lowrider-looking paintjobs, altezzas.. yeah all that crap..

NA(North America) Style
Big wheels(17-18) normal width, normal tire sizes, widebodies.. 1552 design are the true pioneers of na style..

wish i had a pic of this car after it got its widebody..

my car for good measure..

Well okay then.

"English style" sucks ass. The fat lip stuff is freaking retarded.

Using too-big rims (which are usually also really heavy) from another car with way skinnier tires than they were intended to go with is only slightly less bad.

All of these cars are way too dumped except for the red one with Abt grille.

I don't understand this shit at all. Only a certain width of tire can fit in the wheel well.

What does the wider wheel gain you? Nothing. It fucks up the tire and it weighs more, and people do it on purpose.
