maybe u guys all are hostile with ur fathers for specific reasons, and u might have every right to be that way. i was pissed at my dad all my life b/c he hardly ever made the move to see me. he was always sitting in the third bar stool from the right at the "Lion's Den"...when i wanted to see him, i went to the bar before his house. on my 16th birthday, i waited alll night for him to show up, he didnt. after everyone left my house and i went to my bf's..he called and said he was sorry. he forgot it was my birthday....he was at the bar w/ my sister gettting drunk. i was mad at him for a year. when i finally decided to gte over it, i found out he had lung cancer. less than a year later, he died.

my point, chose ur battles, especially with parents. they wont be here forever....but without them, you wouldnt be here at all. i cant stand to hear people say that they hate their parents..b/c i said that a few times. and now my dad is gone, and id give ANYTHING in this entire world to have him back for one day so i could just tell him that i love him! because no matter how horrible of a father he seemed to be at times, i wouldnt have traded him for anyone else in the world.
wow that was really moving....

seriously, stop. you DON'T know anything about him.

im 19. i go to school 3 days a week. dont work. my car is paid off. i have bills. and u know how i pay them?? from the money i got when my father died. and my mom offers to pay A LOT of them b/c she doesnt want me to use that money for bills. if my dad was still here..he'd help me too. when youre the child of a split home, its hard. but i guess u wouldnt know about that, now would u? getting money from the person who left your mother to raise you by herself...that doesnt make up for the pain you go through everyday. money is just a consolation prize for being a bastard child! r u going to put me down now b/c i live at home for free?? because i get money from my mom when i ask? yea, i think u shouldnt!

you struck a sore nerve with your comment Skyler. i really think it would be best if u not pass judgement on people for things like this, ESPECIALLY when u know nothing about the person.

Awww Mandi, I bake you pretty cake.

I guess you never know what's going to go on. I was picking up bread at the bakery and a lady was paying for a cake with food stamps. I asked, after she left why on earth if you're on food stamps you would buy a cake and not something else that would last longer. Well, it turns out her daughter was dying of cancer and it was her last birthday. So, I'm learning to keep an open mind.
