BMI is a load of shit.

I'm 5'11, 200 lbs... ~35in waist and much broader shoulders... and i'm "obese"

I guess all those trips to the gym were worthless.

bmi is just a tool to estimate where a person in terms of health. Of course like bonzoapd said if you got mad muscle mass and heavy bone structure it is senseless, but it can give an assessment to where an obese person is.
