The game is good, but it's the first kind of game that's utilizing new "features".

The game is installed locally and leverages your computer's power for graphics and sound generations. The calculations are run on an EA server. You need a constant internet signal to play.

The game is fucking up because there's bugs with the servers. To make things worse, they're overloaded too.

EA ran 3 beta tests ... the game is legit ... that persistent internet connection thing is fucking everything up.

EA is calling it "features" ... it's anti-piracy.

The unfortunate side ... if EA ever shuts down the server, the game is inoperable.

This is a horribly terrible idea.

And here's a petition about it

they have DRM for Final Fight Double Impact on the ps network. You can't play it unless you are online

This is the future of gaming, folks.

Next gen consoles will demand an internet connection at all times. It'll record "purchase" history onto your user account and embed DRM to your local machine.

You won't be able to take games to your friend's place ... Rent ... or even buy used anymore.

Wifey worked a 16 and played it for a good couple hours. She said it went down a few times, but overall was good.

I am not looking forward to them discontinuing the servers someday (as they did with Motor City Online) and all this DRM stuff is bogus. I read that the PS4 won't be backwards compatible nor will it support used/borrowed games. Do they really think this is going to make them money? I just finally ordered a PS3, and if that's the outlook on the future, then I'm sure my budget will only allow for select games. At least now I can borrow games from my brother.

The gaming business is attempting to reinvent and get consumers off of older "habits".

They want the Steam / AppStore type delivery system. You can't share an iOS / Android game. You can't share a PC game from Steam. Why should you share any other kind of game? Why is that acceptable for some markets, not others.

I don't agree with the methodology. I hate it. When I pay $50 for a game, I want something out of it ... not just the rights to download it onto a propitiatory format hard drive.
