Nicer parts of Los Angeles will probably run you $1,000 (Valleys) to $2,000 (coastal/beach areas) for a one bedroom. You don't want to live in the not nice parts of Los Angeles.

 

yepp depends on where you live..in the northern california area like San francisco and stuff its pretty expensive, but the further you go from the city its cheaper and nicer homes for the money, like sacramento, or tracy, antioch, gilroy, all these are lil towns about an hour away or so from the main SF or big cities, alot of people commute an hour or so but enjoy the luxury of a big home and a nice job.

 

California is crowded as it is. Stay away.
