funny that you say that, 'cause most rap nowadays doesn't tell a story or make any sense.

you can't use any examples from outkast's new offering either :squint:

I like a lot of the old school rap, but I can't stand all the rapping about bling and bitches... it's too fake.

When you say bling, the Big Tymers come to mind. They have the bling and the bitches to back up the rhymes.

Electronic music is getting better as the years go by. The sound is getting fuller, clearer, and producers are really starting to push new things out. I can't take late 90's house/trance.......it all sounds cheesy compared to the stuff coming out today, even though I liked it back then.

that's a genre that is more technology driven than most, so it only makes sense that as technology improves the music would as well.

it's all in the interpretation. can you give me an example of a rap song that doesn't tell a story or make sense?

I need better examples than the ones provided. They make sense, if you can relate. Not the most witty or lyrically blessed artists, and I may not agree w/everything they say, but I understand what they're saying/talking about.
ok, look
the shit you see/hear on radio/mtv is not rap. it is pop. it just happens to mimic the rap genre
good rap is out there, you have to look for it
shit, i listen to death metal and such, and i listen to rap too.
the shit i listen to is from the bay area/nor cal shit.
i used to hate rap, because all the shit i ever heard was on the radio. my friend kinda got me into some of this bay rap, and i got into it. partially because i play guitar (alot of jazz too), and when i listened to some of this stuff, i heard guitar comping playing chords that i played in jazz band. that impressed me. the bass lines too. and the phrasing. jesus christ, sure it may only be like 4-8 bars for the melody/beat, but man if i could phrase half as good as some of the producers do, damn.
now i'm just rambling and shit
if you wanna peep some of the people i'm talkin about, check out dubee, mac dre, brotha lynch hung, cougnut, cellski, 3xKrazy, (you've probably already heard of) Andre Nickatina (aka dre dog), cold world hustlers, devin the dude (dirty south but i really dig his shit), equipto, san quinn,
for the OG's, check out RBL posse and IMP.
the list goes on
anyway, late

What would be good topics to rap about?
