Selling the Speed3 and need some advice
I'll be straight forward...here is the craigslist ad (http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/3127706120.html). I've seen this car at dealers at around $17K, carmax around $18k and on craigslist around $15 as private party loaded with mods...I do owe on the car still so I would like to clear that out and have some extra to buy a filler.
I need to get out form under the loan, hence selling it...plus I wouldn't mind something more economical and some other features that I just don't/can't add to this car.
So my question to you all...what would you offer? what would you accept? what would you change about the listing be it positive or negative?
I am hesitant accepting anything under $13k because that would leave me with $3K to buy a filler (thinking Protege5). I currently only have 1 offer at $10K which I think is a very low offer and car is worth more than that.
Thanks HAN! :draco:

Your $10K buyer is out of his mind. Tell him as much.
But OTOH, I wouldn't use your neighborhood car dealer as a benchmark.
Odds are, they're still pricing cars like it was last summer, when Japanese production was devastated.
They may also be trying to con buyers into thinking the MS3 is more rare than it is.
Since I figure Carmax would offer around 13K, so I'd open with $13.5K.
But honestly, I don't think $3K is going to get you very much in today's market.
A clapped-out first-gen CRV would fit your wish list, but it's going to need a timing belt, brakes, clutch and maybe even half-shafts at that price point.
Seems like false economy to me... :hs:

If your serious about selling it,stay away from Craigslist.
Craigslist/San Diego section is full of scam artist,Low Ballers and crooks.
Put it in the auto trader if you want to sell it fast and to the right clientele.
Edit: Also wash clean engine compartment

too bad you don't live in Michigan, that thing would go for 15k alllllll day.
Clean up the engine bay it looks like shit. Spend the 50 bucks to put it properly on Autotrader, you will be happy you did. I wouldn't take anything less than 13.5k on it realistically.
