Default Xbox or PS2, which one is better?

I may be getting one pretty soon, just wondering what are the features of each, what one has better driving/sports games. I know the PS2 plays DVD's, im assuming the Xbox does too. So if they were priced the same, which I think they are right now, what one would you go with and why?

It really depends of your taste IMO.

I have both, and prefer the PS2 in general for its game.
Don't go comparing cross-platforms games like Splinter Cell.

if you want halo 2 and fable go for xbox
if you want gt4 and mgs3 go for ps2
but i'd rather save all that dough for a pc to run hl2, halo pc and doom 3 (even tho they'll be on xbox, it still stutters with halo 1)

that was easy. GT owns me, I just seen some screenshots of GT4 and it looks so damn sweet. And MGS was the first "first player" type game that I really got hooked on. It was so realistic and exciting that my heart was pounding and my palms sweating the first time I made it to the boss of the first levelh: Sweet ass game!

PS2 it is. Just to make sure, it will play DVD's w/o having to get any other hardware/software correct?

Snoopy: :fawk:

I bought a PS when it first came out, it was coo and all, but I got bored of it, hardly played it so I gave it to my son. I have a DreamCast, played it maybe twice. And now, the PS2 is actually for my son for his B-day coming up in two weeks, he's been wanting it and I've been wanting a DVD player, so might as well kill two birds w/one stone.

I like the xbox better.

PS2 has more game's though, albeit not a lot of quality title's but more selection.

I have both, and if I had to choose I wouldn't get either, cuz when the other console has a game I want a can't get it I'd be pissed.
