Mister B you are talking about the older BMWs which were umm not as reliable. The previous BMW that I've owned 95 E36 and the current 00 M coupe and E46 330i have no such problems. (except the M coupe and the fuel gauge thingy).

318i has 125K miles and no oil leak.

The E39 5-series is one of the most reliable 5-series (and most successful) if not the most reliable BMW of recent date.

Your E32 735iL is probably a wront stardard to judge the more current lineup of BMWs.

Maby your right, mine is a 94 but I honestly expected better from a bimmer. But all problems aside they are super pimp cars that anyone will immediately recognize. Nothing exudes class and style quite like a bimmer.

yeah unfortunately 7 series probably the worse BMWs to buy used.... hopefully the new E65/66 will be different.

I can drink to that, they aren't the best used, but still decent. The 5's are really solid, my buddy drives an 85 528 thats stick and has yet to make any major repairs other than to replace the cooling fan and I think the clutch. Im just bitter about my 7 series taking a dump on me I went and bought an 88 toyota corolla for 1200 dollars with 180k miles on it that runs better and is less expensive than the bimmer and I only drive that to work and stuff because its so damn reliable. The bimmer will be the weekend car until I sell them both for something I really want.
