some people like to collect dvds every tuesday. i would do the same but it costs too damn much. now that i think about it dvd copying technology is slowing getting better and better (maybe dual layered copying will be here soon :dunno
.
Don't get me wrong, i love collecting dvds but wouldn't it be a waste of money when 1-1 copies will easily be produced in the not to distant future. it would make me so mad if i spent 100's of dollars on my dvd collection when some shumck copys all his movies for a fraction of the price :madfawk:
[/end rant]

yah, my dad at any given time has 15-20 dvd's in his collection that are still in the shrink wrap. He's not saving them for a particular reason...he just buys dvd's just to buy them.

Dual layered burning technology won't be coming to a pc near you. sorry to break the news.
there is plenty of software out there to produce 1:1 copies, w/ a minor sacrifice in picture quality(Normally so miniscule you can't notice it). So get a burner for $150 and get to copying:fawk:

sh!t,... I'm pushing close 230 dvd's. The majority of the ones I've been buying recently are the ones that are replacing the VHS ones. It's an expensive habit, but when I started, DVD burners were $500 burning @ 1xspeed. Eventually I'll start copying them, but only as back-ups and start loading them in the Sony 300+1 disc DVD player.
i'm at about 150 dvd's for the last year and a half.
i'll show interest in dvd burners when i burn a full 4 gig dvd in about 20 mins. till then forget it.
