Sr-22 insurance
Ok, I have a question. I have a '03 TL-s so everyone here knows that I speed. Unfortunately so do the cops. So I got my license suspended for points. I have now taken the Advanced Driver Improvement Course required to get my license back and heard about Sr-22 insurance. I heard its mega expensive. Does anyone know when this insurance is required or what you have to do to get the state to make you carry this insurance? I live in Florida.
Moving this to basement so you can get more feedbacks.

I think the state will tell you that you have to carry it. Also i think it's only for DUI's and accidents not speeding..
Looking around on the net i was unable to find a clear answer, but her is what i found:
Florida's DMV is more like a room full of ostriches with thier heads in the sand. (not the best source of information and almost never right about iffy questions) If you havn't been told you need a sr-22 you should need one. Don't expect a correct answer from any one @ the DMV and if you are really serious about trying to find out if you need one, find an attorney that works in this area and ask him.

Well, I did not have to get Sr-22 insurance and I found out when it necessary that you must have it for everyones reference. After receiving a DUI, everyone is required to maintain Sr-22 insurance for a period of 3 years in addition to your regular insurance. The other time that it is required to have Sr-22 occurs when you get enough points to have your license suspended. The catch is that you only have to get it if you were not covered by 1.) bodily injury protection and 2.) property damage liability at the time of your suspension. So if you have full coverage at the time of your suspension you will not have to get Sr-22 provided you can prove that you had full coverage. So, everyone knows Sr-22 is super expensive to get and its in addition to your regular insurance which is already going to be high because you are a bad enough driver to have to get Sr-22. From what I can tell, people say Sr-22 is like $300 a month. or about $2400-2500 a year. Thats expensive as f*ck. Plus you'll have to pay your regular premiums and you must maintain Sr-22 for 3 years and if you miss one payment you have to start over for 3 years again until you make all payments regardless of your driving record. Sorry about the long post. This applies to Florida people only.
yeah i got one of those. but the 3 yrs thing also has a golden lining. if you dont drive for 3 yrs it goes away. thats what im doing write now. i only have about 1.5 yrs to go. and i hope i can wait. cause i dont got money out the ass for the to sodomise me for. but good luck
