meh, I think there's a certain threshold of pain that your brain can process. The pain you feel for the few seconds it takes for them to rip your tonsils out is nothing compared to the days of pain you feel afterwards, anesthesia or not. I also had a filling done with no anesthesia now that I remember.

no root canals... yet...

i went to the dentist once for a cavity filling and i was laying there thinking they were cleaning my teeth before they started. i then felt my tooth with my tongue and it was hollow. they were drilling my tooth :eek3:

i was like... uhhh... where's the drugs? "oh, we didn't think you wanted it"

not a huge fan of the novocain, but laughing gas helps...

i think i just let them finish without it... haven't been to the dentist since :wtc:

 

I've had like 3 minor cavities in my permanent teeth.

The first cavity, the dentist used expired Novocain shots (we discovered this later). He started drilling and I calmly said "I can feel everything you're doing." Two more shots. Started drilling away again and I could still feel everything.

Then he have me a shot in the roof of the mouth, and I can still remember to the day how much that made my asshole pucker. Woke me the hell up.

After he raped my mouth with a syringe, I could still feel everything, and he told me there was nothing more he could do to numb it today. He drilled away and it wasn't too bad but pretty uncomfortable.

On my way out he said, "Holy shit this novocain expired in 2004. No wonder it wasn't working, it has a terrible shelf life."

Truth

I had this done once for a root canal in an upper molar, never have I felt so much pain. You can hear the needle puncture the cartilage. I still have an indentation on the roof of my mouth from it :hs:.

 

they cut mine out when they were putting my jaw back together.....so i got my wisdom tooth taken out by slamming my face into a tree at 60mph LOL
