CRT Monitors
LCD's can also accurately recreate geometric shapes, so if your into graphics, straight on a LCD is straight, straight on the edge of a CRT might not be (might sound anal, but important if your into graphics). I have an 19" NEC FE991SB, cost about $250 from newegg.com when I built this machine, I'm completely happy with it.

Well, after putting together a new computer (mainly for gaming and multimedia and whatnot) I was looking into getting a newer and bigger monitor. I was gonna use the older computer for browsing the net and checking email. But I'm still using the old monitor from the first computer. I thought I'd get some ideas of what to look for into getting a reasonably priced bigger monitor.
Space and cooling doesn't really matter. It just has to be at least 19" with a black cabinet at a good price.

Umm... unless I can afford one of the top-of-the-line TFT LCDs from apple, you wont see me trading in my CRT any time soon... the reason? One word: Pantone.
A decent CRT will come closer to Pantone standards than even a really good LCD, and a studio monitor like mine gets the colors at nearly 99% perfect...
Of course, I spent $500 on my 17" CRT...
