Chicks dig treehuggers now?

I refer to myself as an executive hippie.
It's a mixed bag with girls. Girls rarely _really_ dig it, but when you do find a common thread through the environment, you've already got her in your pocket. Big bonus points with surfer chicks, too...
And I don't really care what people have to say against treehuggers. Anyone who openly endorses the destruction, or at least neglects to pay attention to their impacts on the environment is just plain stupid.
Either we can do something now, or realize in 50 years it's too late and we've missed our chance. Mind you, it's not my decision (I've already made mine), it's your decision...

I roost protected dirt on them

I think driving the HEMI negates any treehuggerness that might be in me.

I work for an environmental engineering consulting firm. Though most of work involves finding solutions to problems that already exist, or finding ways to comply with existing and future regulations. I know sustainable development is the next big thing, but I don't know how much we've gotten into that yet.

Yeah, I wish I could get employment with a public institution or a private consulting firm, but A) The government is downsizing due to the budget and B) The current administration is turning back a lot of environmental progress (in the form of regulations), which is hampering the market of said consulting firms.
Thus, I think I may have to go back into IT for a while, so I can at least pay off my student loans...
But yeah, the big stress in my education was on realistic solutions to problems going on now (My senior paper was on urban pollution in mexico city... very depressing), and I was always a fan of baby steps done right, not huge steps that could fail....
Meh... Sustainable development is an attainable dream, once we figure out a way to get business to A) count environmental impacts into production costs, and B) shift the timeframe on investment returns from 2 years to 5 years, but that would be nearly impossible to do...
ManInCamo:
It depends. I've met some hippie "chicks" that the only part of their body that they shave is their heads. I've also met "hippie" chicks who are some of the sexiest girls on this planet, as not only do they look good, but they have a intelligence and cognitive ability to match.
I mean no insult, but most of the girls that I know/have met that dig a military man are average at best (When it's all in the wash... ie they could be hot as hell, but are as daft as a bush)
Of course, there are exceptions, but I'm just stating my experiences...

Tree huggers are gay. They're so wrapped up in their altered reality that the world is ending that they don't think logically.

Hardcore environmentalists are just like any other fanatics--they're an extreme (and in this case rather vocal) minority. In this case they happen to mess up the issue for the rest of the people that want to do something about it.
Bill O'Riley, one of the most conservative conservatives and a man with whom I agree very seldomly, is an environmentalist.
