I know sustainable development is the next big thing, but I don't know how much we've gotten into that yet.
I think driving the HEMI negates any treehuggerness that might be in me.
And my teggy prolly puts me in bad standing too, but I _do_ get around 35MPG on the freeway with it...
Yeah, I wish I could get employment with a public institution or a private consulting firm, but A) The government is downsizing due to the budget and B) The current administration is turning back a lot of environmental progress (in the form of regulations), which is hampering the market of said consulting firms.
Thus, I think I may have to go back into IT for a while, so I can at least pay off my student loans...
But yeah, the big stress in my education was on realistic solutions to problems going on now (My senior paper was on urban pollution in mexico city... very depressing), and I was always a fan of baby steps done right, not huge steps that could fail....
Meh... Sustainable development is an attainable dream, once we figure out a way to get business to A) count environmental impacts into production costs, and B) shift the timeframe on investment returns from 2 years to 5 years, but that would be nearly impossible to do...
ManInCamo:
It depends. I've met some hippie "chicks" that the only part of their body that they shave is their heads. I've also met "hippie" chicks who are some of the sexiest girls on this planet, as not only do they look good, but they have a intelligence and cognitive ability to match.
I mean no insult, but most of the girls that I know/have met that dig a military man are average at best (When it's all in the wash... ie they could be hot as hell, but are as daft as a bush)
Of course, there are exceptions, but I'm just stating my experiences...
