so goin to the track tomorrow
So Im takin the sol to the track for the first time tomorrow. I REALLy want to run, but I'm scared about being let down with a shitty time. It's got a b18 hybrid swap, but that stock bullshit muffler and its slow as hell until about 6000 rpm. I'd hate to go thru all that money and effort for my swap, and be all down about it before I get an exhaust system. Whatchew guys think?

who cares what time you run. SO long as your clutch doesn't let up in the line. :sad:

:rofl::rofl:
I would go just to get a feel for the car. Racing at the track is completely different than on the street, so don't go in expecting the world.
Good luck :thumbup:

Yeah like they said ...go out there and make some practice passes.
At the worst you do shitty but you learn something abut your car.
Ask people at the track who are racing to give you pointers on your launch and shift points....usually they are more than eager to help out some new blood.
It can only help if you run, if you don't then you will keep using the same excuse.
My first passes in my Accord after the swap were 16s and really dissapointed me. The next time I went out I was hitting 15.4, 15.5 with a 15.5 as dial in time.

ok, wow thanks guys! I guess I'll run her, but I wouldnt leave that as the same excuse. I'd get the friggin exhaust redone. Thats next MOD after some repairs like getting a knock sensor, fixing my 4th gear grinding, and replacing a tie rod.
I took my TSX to the track to drag race and ran such crappy times!
Everytime I run, I get either in the high 15s and low 16s....ugh!
I don't know if I would want to keep going to the drag strip too much cuz I know I am ruining my own car.

I have to admit I like racing.

Don't worry about hitting your best ETs the first time out.
Once you're lined up in the staging lanes, there's going to be a million things running thru your head. If you're going to be on street tires, drive around the waterbox and spin the tires a few times before you get to the staging beams. Do not cross the beams before you line up. You will piss off the track officials and make a fool of yourself. Line your car up, and since this is your first time don't worry about reaction time. Don't take too much time but enough for you to launch carefully. If you didn't launch right, (which will probably be the case since you know..) don't be so hard on yourself. Enjoy the run and learn what you should and shouldn't do the next time you line up.
Most important of all, relax and have fun!
