I'd rather more torque..

My only little things against honda are :

1- The rsx-type S doesn't need a 6th gear (here come the flames).
2- Most of the engines need high revs for any good performance, including the "top notch sports car" offered by honda...
3- Very little torque (see #2) compared to HP ratings.
4- Not a fan of the beehive sound, characteristic of honda...

That being said, I'll point out that my next car is a h22 prelude... so obviously I dont dislike honda that much.

A lot of it goes against Hondas philosophies. Honda builds cars that are efficient and environmentally friendly. You can't be environmentally friendly with a 5.7 liter engine. Honda will extract as much power as they can out of a small engine before they will ever simply make a bigger engine. But if you notice their liters are slowly creeping up more and more. Civics are now 1.7 or 2.0, as opposed to 1.5 or 1.6 before. CRV/Element went from 2.0 to 2.4, not a bad jump. So yeah they know they got as much power as they could from those smaller engines and they are moving up. In 30 years I'm sure they will have 5.0 liter engines in their normal cars.

No, it's not. The K24 is a taller block.

Once upon a time, Civics were 1.2 Liters

The thing that annoys me the most about Honda:
They have no RWD Turbo Rotary cars.

When trying to just have soemthing driveable with good pick up from a low rpm tq is good. But to go as fast as possibel you want high end hp which is what Honda is good at even tho they may sacrifice some low end tq. Why do aftermarket cams hurt low end tq in exchange for top end power? It's because high end power is more important than tq when trying to get the maximum performance out of the car. If you're too lazy to downshift to find power that's your problem.
it is always better to have a good amount of torque and high hp. look at anything german (i.e bmw, porsche, etc.) granted those are top of the line but you can look at all of the cars that germans build and you will see loads of torque while maintaning decent hp. the reason that honda kind of gets away with lower amounts of torque is because our cars weigh half as much as everything else, but it would be so much nicer to be able to pick up and go in any gear.

i personally would agree with what most people are saying and would like to see some more torque, and something RWD. i would actually like to see it come from a I6 instead of a V6. honda's main focus is the to be the best of the econo boxes but i still think that they could expand their product line to include a little more performance. the market is definitely there.

I love that "whiny beehive" sound h:, maybe I'm just weird. I dont really like he V8/harley sorta sound onteh other hand.

6th gear cant hurt, better than not having it. It helps the car have closer ratios which improve performance.

I mean I think it coems down to whether you want low to mid end tq in a car or high end power in car. Going with Honds'a philosopohy, they aren't gonna make gobs of tq with their engines unless they go turbo which they wont. As long as the car will get movign at low rpm and i can stay in powerband pushing it to redline on the shifts, I'm happy.

I want an H22a prlude as my next car too.

I have no problems with honda...except for:

1. I wish Honda of America would stop de-tuning and taking out all the good stuff they got overseas when they reach our shores.

2. Bring over the ITR, CTR, NSX-R...share the wealth.

3. When they bring over the good stuff...see #1.

4. Bring back the Del Sol, CRX, Accord Hatchback and Prelude.

I feel you there. Good points.
The NSX barely has a market here anyways, I dont knwo if a Type-R NSX would sell well considering how harsh it is compared to the current USDM model

the only reason why the NSX does not sell here is b/c it is not worth the 90k pricetag.

if Honda would sell the NSX 40-50k....there would be a different story. the NSX-R at 60k would be a good deal....if they ever decided to sell it here.
