Default who works out? i need help.

i started working out last week, while i dont expect to see results this soon, i do expect to be exhausted but im not. but beyond that, i dont feel like the exercises i do are doing anything for my pecs. im doin bench press and dumbell flies to exercise them, what else can i do? both of those exercises feel like a bigger workout on my shoulders than my pecs... its frustrating me to no end.

how is your form? You shouldn't be feeling that in your shoulders. It should be felt in your chest.

Your gonna get the noob jolt soon, and gain like crazy.

After you hit a wall with that sit down with a personal trainer to get a new workout. Or ask someone here. Like me

Yeah, you're doing too much weight if you're feeling it mostly in your shoulders. Your muscles have a prioritizing system in which if one group isn't strong enough to counter whatever resistance it meets, it will 'recruit' other muscle groups. For the two you mentioned, shoulders are the primary recruits. When your pecs and triceps can't handle the bench press by themselves, your body naturally uses the front and back shoulders and upper back muscles to help. If those muscles are feeling stressed, lower the weight in 10% increments until you clearly feel it working pecs/triceps (depending on grip). Same goes for dumbell flies.

For chest I do 2 sets of these for now, I started working out last week again:

1. Benchpress
2. Decline Fly
3. Decline benchpress
4. Incline fly
5. Incline dumbell press
6. Weighted pushups
7. Incline shoulder raise (gets the area right under your ribcage)

He was talking about form during your exercises. Maintaining good form will work your muscles correctly.
