What to do.
I recently made a trip to chicago to visit a friend. Me and a few buddies of mine went out to a couple of bars downtown. We took the subway to and from downtown. One of my buddies was pretty drunk and for a lack of better judgement decided to take a piss in some bushes right outside of the train station. I stood with my back to him a few feet away so he didn't stick out just incase. Well a cop came around the corner not even 15 seconds after he started taking a piss. Go figure. The cop came over and ask for both of our IDs. I knew that my buddy was going to get a urinating in public charge or whatever, but then the cop handed me a ticket to. I asked what I was getting charged for and she's like read the ticket. Basically the ticket said I shielded my buddy from the cop while he urinated in public. It seems like a load of crap because all I did was stand there. There's no fine listed on the ticket I received or anything of the like. Just a court date. For the crime of standing next to my buddy while he peed. Does anyone have any advice here?
Accessory to urinating in public is a serious crime. 5 years in FPMITAP, minimum.
But seriously, be polite and apologetic to the judge. Tell them your friend was going to urinate no matter what you did, and that you were just standing nearby waiting for him to finish. But I would try and figure out what kind of penalty you might be facing beforehand, in case you really do need a lawyer or something. There should be a number on the ticket you can call to find out more info.

Such bullshit...(the offense.)
I stopped like 2ft past the white line at a stop sign...my offense is the same as someone who completely blows through it. :ugh:
But I agree with folks that are saying to talk to the judge and be real. Was there an actual citation number for "shielding someone while they were peeing?"
