<<this noob's been wondering what the i in i-VTEC stands for and what the difference b/w i-VTEC and VTEC?

the i does stand for intelligent. difference is ivtec is continously variable whereas vtec changes profiles at a certain rpm. or something along those lines. h:

IVTEC switches from a primary to a secondary cam lobe, and also changes the timing of the cam up to 50 degrees, where as regular VTEC just switches to a bigger cam lobe.

No more VTEC crossover point? I always thought it was kinda cool when it would suddenly start pulling harder after passing over 4,600 rpm mark (or wherever it was set at, I don't remember).

Of course, maybe this means less ricers posting kill stories that have the typical "the 911 Turbo was ahead at first, then I hit VTEC and put like 100000000 car lengths on him..."

yeah, and when a ricer loses, he claims the "the VTECH didn't spool up"

(yes, I misspelled VTEC on purpose)
