IVTEC switches from a primary to a secondary cam lobe, and also changes the timing of the cam up to 50 degrees, where as regular VTEC just switches to a bigger cam lobe.

Of course, maybe this means less ricers posting kill stories that have the typical "the 911 Turbo was ahead at first, then I hit VTEC and put like 100000000 car lengths on him..."
