Its sad that he lost all those years, and I hope that he can get back to "normal". i agree to a point with what was said, after a few years... I think its time to let go because you odn't know what his life would be like if he woke up. Not that he deserves to die, but there is a difference between holding on because you remember him as he was and want to hold on to that, and holding on because you see improvement and the prognosis is good.

not a doc and I hope I NEVER have to to deal with this, and I admit that if i did- I would probably want to hold on too.

as for the milestone...I think it happened before, but I'm not sure how many years the guy was out. He was a cop, and some assasins broke into his house in the middle of the night and killed his family and shot him up. His nurse fell in love with him while he was in a coma and when he woke up, they hooked up and he got his revenge.

 

kinda happysad, cause well, he's finally awake but not looking in good shape and his life is obviously rearranged. Kinda like the movie "Big." The guy wakes up and all of a sudden he's old. I'm not sure if he has the mental capacity to care though. :happysad:

 

he is in a retirement home, they are fairly cheap.
