I've never had probs with the XP burning... just for the simple act of copying a file to a cd.... works fine for me. Not all burners are created equal.

why bother with a registry hack to disable it.... does "Take no action" on that popup box not work?

nope. I keep telling it to "Take no action", but it's still pops up everytime I put a CD in.

I did. and I went into both optical drives' properties and told it to Take no action...and it still comes up. and not just when I put a blank CD in...even when I put a regular music CD in.
