yeah, espeically when a ton of the people on this board are atheists, not to mention that i'm supposed to be not endorsing a company b/c they actually believe in the idea that our country is based on the concept of freedom of religion

Don't buy new Pepsi can.

Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with
pictures of the Empire State Bldg. and the Pledge of
Allegiance on them. But, Pepsi left out two little
words on the pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they did
not want to offend anyone. If this is true then we do
not want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate
office. If we do not buy any Pepsi product then they
will not receive any of our monies. Our money after
all does have the words "Under God" on it.

Please pass this word to everyone you know--let your
voices be heard. We want the words "Under God" to be
read by every person who buys a can.
That is quite possibly the stupidest reason not to buy something I have ever heard of.

I won't buy Pepsi anyways but then I don't like Pepsi much anyways, I also won't buy Pepsi because I don't see how patriotic colors is supposed to make me feel better about the country I live in....STUPID MARKETING DOES NOT SELL TO ME AT ALL!

I'm not atheist but I am Wiccan, and to make the presumption that everyone believes in a christian "god" would indeed be a bad assumption on Pepsis part.

If they alienate a group or rather several groups all at once then their sales would dive into the toilet so this is how they solved the problem.

Smart move for Pepsi and their marketing team.....stupid move to try and boycott it for the narrow minded view that everyone believes in the same view of god as they do.

Make sure you don't buy any Frito Lay products either they are owned by pepsi

i agree. and neither was the part about killing the atheist advertising department at pepsi, or being vindicated because somehow killing non-christians is ok.

i never did understand why christian people feel the need to advertise it along with their general description of themselves. they tend to have a massive intolerance toward any other religious belief, or "god" or lack thereof in the case of athiests, buddhists, etc.

"hi, i'm lawrence. i like volunteering at the retirement home, playing checkers with cousin jimmy, oh and i'm a christian! God bless!"

ok, im not going to read this whole thread...but heres a reply from a Christian.

i believe in God....and i dont think its right that Pepsi did that, but im not going to boycott them because of it. Not everyone has teh same beliefs...oh well. People just have to accept that. There's nothing we can do about it. Drinking pepsi and giving my money to them isnt contributing to their athiesm, if thats even what it is...and it isn't going to cause athiests to take over the world...so if you're a pepsi drinker, i say, drink up!

--if you're going to boycott pepsi b/c they didnt include 3 words in the pledge, then u should do the same for public schools b/c they dont allow prayer, and most are trying to rid of the pledge...

just my opinion...

well put
most kids are too young to understand what is said in the pledge, and when they do, they can make their own decision. prayer shouldn't be allowed (unless its an indivdual or a group, just not put on the entire school body)

the major argument is that putting god in this stuff will give kids morals, but obviously thats not true.
